GPS 1.2 is the backbone for every asp powered homepage. It simplises the
whole administration:
-You dont have to upload anything anymore. Just login and post a message.
-GPS has multiuser support. You can set accessrights for each member.
-Coordinate your homepagedev. with all administrators in the restricted
forum.
-GPS 1.2 has been augmented with GNS 1.1. Now every visit on your homepage
is tracked
and you get some infos like IP, Resolution, Colors, Platform, Browser
from every user!
GPS 1.2 has been built in order to be adapted easily
into EVERY asp website:
Just copy and paste the code of post.asp into the page you want the news
to appear.
You can even edit the layout and color structure of the table where the
postings will appear.

Using GPS 1.2
If you are using GPS 1.2 the first time, login under the account
detail:
ID = Admin / PW = Admin
Once you are logged in you can create a new account with your login/password
and delete the old one. NOTE: Never, Never delete
your last account.
If you do you wont have the possibility to login correctly and you'll
have
to replace the data.mdb file with the one included in the GPS package.
Post a new message
In that part of the admin.asp you can add a new posting which will
be shown in the
post.asp once you have submitted the code. To format and layout your
code you
can use html tags like "<font face=verdana color=#cccc66>GPS</font>".
You dont have to set a <br> if you want a line break. The linebreaks
you
make in the textbox will be converted into <br> tags automatically.
Enter admin forum
This is a restricted part of your homepage accessable only for user
who have
logged in into the admin section.
Its a simple forum where the administrators can coordinate and plan
the homepage. Very important for homepages which are administrated by
many persons.
Delete message
If you have unintentionally created a posting and you want
to undo it just pick it
in this section and hit delete. NOTE: Once you
have deleted it theres no
possibility to retrieve the message. We are not using Windows/Mac/Linux
with their
comfortable Recycle Bins are we?
Delete user
Deletes an useraccount. Keep in mind that you shall never delete your
last user account. If you do you wont have a chance to access the adminsection
anymore.
Add user
Adds an useraccount. You can chose between 2 levels: Level one user
can
only add messages and enter the forum. Only level 2 user have the full
adminrights (delete, edit, see log)
Edit messages
You can edit every message you have posted. Just pick it and rewrite
it! Easy.

You want to know who has accessed this section at what time?
Simple! Every visit and action is logged so there wont be any sabotage.
View tracking information
A lite version of GNS (Guo's Net Statistics) has been built into GPS
1.2.
Every visit (not hit) on the page post.asp will be tracked and logged
with the IP, Resolution, Time Of Visit, Platform, Browser and Colors.
