OVERVIEW

RASPcalendar is a free Event Calendar application written in 'classic' ASP with an Access database, RASPcalendar can store thousands of events in several categories. Event details will show a full description, and will list related events. You can customize events by giving them their own category.

This calendar application is based upon DUcalendar. It has been changed to enhance security*, as well as enabling events that span multiple days and adding color coded event categories.

- Utilizing Microsoft Active Server Pages that can be tested and hosted on any Windows-based PCs and servers

- Complete search feature that helps visitors find just the events they're looking for
- Related events are shown in each event's detail view

RASPcalendar comes with a Web-based Admin panel, you will be able to perform all of the following:
- Add, edit and delete existing categories
- Add, edit and delete existing events

- ASP 2.0 or later
- Internet Explorer 4.0+ or Netscape 6.01+

LICENSING

By downloading this application, you are required to read and agree with the Free License Agreement for End User.

SET UP

After you unzipped RASPcalendar.zip, you can either rename RASPcalendar folder to something else you prefer such as "events" or "calendar", or you keep its original name as RASPcalendar.

Use an FTP program such as CuteFTP to upload all files and folders to your site server.

Enable read and write access to RASPcalendar.mdb

If your site domain is yourdomain.com, and you do not rename the original main folder RASPcalendar, and you upload this whole RASPcalendar folder to the root of your site, the URL to your RASPcalendar front page is:

http://www.yourdomain.com/RASPcalendar/

The URL to Admin is:

http://www.yourdomain.com/RASPcalendar/admin

The default Admin account is

Admin ID: admin
Password: password

For the sake of security, change the default username and password in RASPcalendar.mdb

(NOTE: The link colors assigned to categories are stored in the database table "LinkColor". Edit this table to customize the available link color choices.)
